Our Story

Built by gamers, for the Carlton crowd

We started as a three-rig setup above a Lygon Street cafe and grew into Melbourne's most-loved community arena. Here is how the empire took shape.

    2016

    The first three rigs

    Two uni mates and a borrowed router opened a tiny LAN corner above Brunetti, charging $5 an hour for CS:GO scrims.

  2. 02
    2018

    Moved to 95 Lygon Street

    We took over the old print warehouse, laid acoustic timber, and grew to 30 PC seats plus a retro arcade wall.

    2021

    Esports arena opens

    Added a 40-seat tournament floor, a shoutcaster booth and livestream rig to host our first Victorian Valorant Cup.

    2024

    VR bays & espresso bar

    Installed two room-scale VR bays and a single-origin coffee bar so the marathons never have to end.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need before your first visit to Lygon Street.

Walk-ins are welcome any day and we keep a block of stations free for them. That said, Friday and Saturday evenings and school holidays fill up quickly, so we recommend booking a station online or by phone if you want a guaranteed seat.

We open Monday to Thursday from 10am to 11pm, Friday and Saturday from 10am to 1am, and Sunday from 10am to 9pm. Tournament nights occasionally run later — check the event you are attending for its specific finish time.

Under-15s are welcome until 8pm when accompanied by a parent or guardian, after which the venue becomes 15+. Some M-rated tournaments and late sessions are restricted to players 15 and over with valid ID.

Absolutely. Every PC battlestation has accessible USB ports and our staff are happy to help you plug in your own peripherals. Console pods support standard controllers, and you are welcome to bring your own fight stick for the arcade cabinets.

Yes — private hire of the esports arena starts at AUD $480 for three hours and includes a dedicated host, shoutcasting and a catered grazing table from local Lygon Street vendors. Get in touch via the contact form and we will tailor a package for your group.
